Bonnie Williams Teaching Watercolor Class

Post by Bonnie Smith Williams
Member of the Denham Springs Fine Art Association

I went to the Southland Christian Academy on Feb. 19 and taught a water color class. The ten students did a painting using a transparent watercolor technique. Each one finished a small piece of art in the two classes. The students were a delightful group to work with and so eager to learn how to paint using water color medium. The supplies were donated by DSFAA as a way to inspire young people in our community by providing good painting materials. DSFAA had a fund raiser to buy the materials used in the two class periods.  I donated my time for the morning and had a great morning working with the students. Each one came and personally said thank you and could we please come back. I have promised to come again and some other members will visit to give an art demo. Mr. David Avant is the regular class teacher. He is doing a wonderful job teaching them about art. He has inspired in them a desire to paint and an appreciation for art.    Peggy Schwab DSFAA president,  attended the class  as my assistant and she was a great help. The two of us did our best to represent DSFAA  in our quest to promote art in our community and to make others aware of DSFAA. It was a pleasure to work with these wonderful students.
